Bad luck of the draw. I would hate to have seen you do business with monarch before they went down. The company in question is not giving you a hard time or making it increasingly difficult for you to get your product back, it's just standard procedure.

I called to ask how I could expedite it. She actually suggested returning for cash and reordering, and also offered to upgrade the shipping. I didn't even have to ask. It also took them several days to process my RMA when it arrived, but considering how many they must get, I didn't think they did too badly.

Not necessarily the OP, but a lot of "tech" people get a better deal on a monitor or larger piece of equip RMA it, to get a new product in box and then resell it as brand new.
I feel bad for the middle man and newegg does a great job on making the customer happy. They probably pass through more Rma's then they should. Did you send your thank you letter to NewEgg yet? Because you still should. Also a formal apology is in order for complaining about great customer service.
I wish all online stores were this bad. They don't make the product. Processors have the lowest failure rate of all components and almost never fail if they initially work, meaning most customers will receive another CPU back just to have the same problem because the problem wasn't the CPU to begin with unless of course you have been overclocking, then they shouldn't take it back anyway. Then the evil NewEgg will have, in the customer's opinion, sent you two defective processors the odds of which are too high to calculate.
You have no amendment rights here, but of course you can still bitch if you want to, even if you are terribly wrong.
Joined Aug 30, Messages 2, The OP needs to chill the hell out. It artifacted everywhere. For items sold by a 3rd party seller, you need to check with the individual seller to determine the return window or if the item is non-returnable.
On items that are sold and shipped by Newegg they will pay for the return label on stuff that weighs less than 50 pounds. For products that Newegg sells and ships directly not stuff from 3rd party sellers , they will ONLY give you a full refund if there is something wrong or defective with the item. This is a terrible policy and seems to actually encourage shoppers to damage items so they can avoid the restocking fee. Be sure to check the bottom of the product page to see the specific return policy for that item.
You have MUCH more leeway when buying items sold and shipped by Newegg and in most cases you can return used products, especially if they have a defect. You just might be out of luck when requesting a return if you tossed the original packaging.
This holds true for both 3rd party sellers on Newegg and products they ship and fulfill themselves. Go to your Order History and find the item you want to return.
Select Refund or Replace located directly to the Right of the item. Pick your Return Reason and compete the Return Information. Select your Shipping Method and click on Submit Return. Next, follow the steps to prepare your package and print your shipping label if provided. Be sure you inspect the TV quickly for damage as you only have 48 hours to report any damage to Newegg.
